Achieve a Deep Clean
First, start by examining the entire exterior of your vehicle. It’s important to understand what needs to be done in full before you start the project. Does your vehicle need a simple wash or a more complete cleaning? The answer to that question will determine what products and tools you’ll need for the job.
Once you’ve decided what products you need to buy or pull out of the garage, make sure you read the label as to how it is most effectively used. Some products aren’t meant to be applied to certain areas and surfaces of your vehicle. Following the product guidelines will also help ensure that your car comes out as clean as possible and saves you the trouble of redoing your work.
This next part is all about the washing process itself. Make sure that you use a cloth, rag or mitt designed specifically for washing vehicles. Using the right cleaning tool protects your car from accidental damage that can occur from scrubbing. But it is also more effective at removing dirt, dust, and grime from your car’s exterior because that’s what it’s made for.
When you do wash your car, it’s vital that you regularly rinse your wash rag. If you don’t rinse your rag you aren’t removing dirt, so you’re spreading it, and even worse grinding it into the paint. It’s important to have a few buckets at your disposal when bathing your car. One bucket is for removing the dirt from your scrubbing device, the other for cleansing it, and the other for re-soaping.
