The Honda Civic has been a mainstay on the American roadways since it debuted in 1972; now, 10 generations later, the Honda Civic has been completely redesigned for the 2022 model year. With cutting-edge technology, a new design inside and out, and refined power, “stunning” doesn’t quite cover the beauty of the new 11th-generation Honda Civic.
Trim Levels
There are four trim levels for the 2022 model year:
- LX
- Sport
- EX
- Touring
In the base LX trim, feature highlights include a new Traffic Jam Assist feature, a 7-inch digital display gauge, a 7-inch color infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, and a rear-seat reminder.
The Sport trim adds athletic finishes to the 2022 Civic with 18-inch alloy wheels, black exterior accents, an exhaust finisher, paddle shifters, sports pedals, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
Moving up to the EX trim removes a few of the Sport-specific finishes and adds a blind-spot information system, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a more powerful engine.
Finally, the Touring trim has stand-out features like low-speed braking control, rear cross-traffic monitor, 10-inch digital display gauge, a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a Bose® stereo system, and so much more.
Interior & Exterior Redesigns
Gazing at the outside of the 2022 Civic, you’ll see a low, sleek body with distinct character lines that show off the wheels and tires of the car. The windows have been enlarged to give the cabin a glassier, brighter air, and the fender has been lowered by an inch to create a more modern appearance.
Inside, you and your passengers will enjoy the benefits of the larger windows in the front and rear. As the driver, you’ll have a clean, uncluttered view of the road ahead thanks to a more efficient windshield design that has squared-off corners, door-mounted side mirrors, and less A-pillar interference. The center stack of the 2022 Civic has also been reimagined to put the touchscreen front-and-center with an elegant waterfall design moving down to the gear shift. The Civic utilizes an intuitive combination of touch-control and physical buttons to keep operations simple while you’re driving.
Refined Power & Performance
The LX and Sport trims run on a 2.0-liter, 158-horsepower engine that makes 138 pound-feet of torque. It has a new idle-stop system and a new catalyst that is expected to improve efficiency and emissions.
The EX and Touring trims upgrade to a turbocharged 1.5-liter that makes 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque that benefits from the same upgrades as the 2.0-liter engine. Both engines pair flawlessly with a continuously variable transmission that has been refined to improve its response and efficiency.
