Connecting Your iPhone

First, you need to connect your iPhone to the Apple CarPlay. Start by making sure that your phone has the latest software update. If it does, you’ll be ready to plug your phone into the Honda Civic. Use a genuine Apple cable without any signs of wear or tear. If you don’t have a genuine cable, go grab one before proceeding.

Then, plug the cable into the Civic’s USB extension cable. Once connected, turn on the engine and navigate to the Display Audio home screen. A consent screen will pop up. Select “Always Enable” if you want to allow an automatic connection each time.

Then, an Apple CarPlay icon will appear on the screen. Touch it to see the menu of CarPlay applications. You can use those applications or click on the Honda icon if you want to return to the Display Audio home screen.

Using the Apps

You can control the Apple CarPlay with your voice. All you need to do is hold the talk button that’s located on the steering wheel to instruct Siri. When Siri responds, you can take your finger off the talk button. Then, instruct Siri to perform a task, such as reading or responding to your text messages. You can also tell Siri to direct you to a location and so much more. Things are simple with Siri!
