Basic Information
Located at 2145 W Brown Deer Rd in River Hills, WI, the Lynden Sculpture Garden has a storied history. It is built on the former estate of a prominent local resident, Harry Lynde Bradley. It wasn’t until 2009, however, that the gardens became open to the public. You can visit Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. It is also open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Furthermore, it is closed on Thursday. Best of all, admission is free.
Collections
On the grounds, you can find a variety of interesting and impressive works of art. Numerous sculptures dot the area, each with its own story to tell. The artists who created these pieces come from all over the world, including Russia, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, and more. The sculptures come in many forms. For instance, there are bronze, black diorite, polyester, stucco, wood, metal, and more.
As you explore the garden and admire the sculptures, you’ll see a wide variety of themes. There are sculptures of animals as well as works of art depicting landscapes, people, and so much more.
Education Opportunities
The garden is a great place for people of all ages. Moreover, there are educational classes where you and your family members can learn more about the arts. Firstly, the garden has an art club, which consists of a community of artists who exchange ideas. Students in the club meet weekly and design a project of their own.
There are also educational materials available for K–12 groups. Plus, school tours are a popular way to introduce young children to the arts and everything the garden has to offer. Field trips help teach children about the importance of arts as well as the beauties of nature that are evident on the grounds.

Exhibitions
The Lynden Sculpture Garden always has exhibitions to show off to visitors. Currently, artist Daniel Burkholder is holding the exhibition “Practices of Presence: Moving through Lynden.” Burkholder himself explored the grounds the previous year through a practice known as embodied screendance. He will show you how he combines dance, mindfulness, somatic modalities, and improvisational movements.
