The Civic has been cruising roadways around the world for half a century, and for 2023, the Civic Type R is faster than ever before. In the spring of 2022, Honda tested the Type R’s speed at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan, and the 2023 model navigated the route of curves, turns, and straightaways to clinch a lap time of 2 minutes and 23.120 seconds. The incredible performance is owed to the lively turbocharged VTEC engine under the hood, and the powerhouse generates a fierce 315 horsepower for lightning-quick acceleration at the push of your pedal. The Civic Type R also features a six-speed manual transmission with rev-match control to put gear shifting in your hands. The sporty model also maintains excellent poise and handling with its multi-link rear suspension.
Onboard Technology
Honda offers a selection of modern conveniences in the 2023 Civic Type R, and various features enhance each ride with onboard entertainment and assistance. If you want to gauge your car’s performance, you can utilize the Honda LogR datalogger for real-time readouts of its engine data, friction, oil temperature, and more. Wireless Apple CarPlay® also allows for easy smartphone synchronization, while an off-line navigation system provides clear directions even when there’s no cell-phone signal.

As you can expect from any Honda model, safety remains the top priority in the athletic Civic Type R’s design. The Advanced Capability Engineering (ACE) body structure, a design exclusive to Honda, was specially engineered to give cars like the Civic added passenger protection.
