Sometimes a delicious meal is surprisingly easy to make. If you want a tasty dinner with minimal grocery shopping and prep work, get out the slow cooker and try these three-ingredient recipes.
Crock Pot Ranch Chicken
For this fork-tender, flavorful chicken, you’ll only need three simple ingredients and an afternoon. The recipe calls for a pound of chicken breast, a 10.5-ounce can of condensed cream of chicken, and a small packet of ranch seasoning. You’ll need to mix the cream of chicken with the seasoning first, then coat the bottom of the slow cooker or crockpot with a few tablespoons of the mix. Then, set the chicken on top, and pour in the rest of the mixture. If you think the mix seems too dense, you can thin it out with a few tablespoons of water. Cover the pot with the lid, then set the heat and time for either eight hours on low, or four hours on high. The results will be tender and creamy and would pair wonderfully with rice, potatoes, or cooked vegetables.
Beef Tips
These beef tips spend hours in the pot cooking low and slow, allowing the flavors of onion and mushrooms to blend and marry into a savory delight. For this recipe, you’ll need three pounds of stew beef, plus a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of cream of onion soup. These soups will cook together to make a sauce greater than the sum of its parts, so start by mixing the two soups in the bottom of the pot. Then, stir in the beef tips so that they’re all coated in the creamy mixture. Like the chicken in the previous recipe, you can either cook on low for eight hours or cook on high and cut the time in half. If you want to expand on the three-ingredient limit, the recipe suggests adding in some cooked carrots or other cooked vegetables about 20 minutes before time’s up.
