What You Need

  • Water
  • Red Onion
  • Garlic
  • Old Bay Seasoning
  • Thyme
  • Red Potatoes
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Corn
  • Andouille Sausage
  • Shrimp
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Lemon
  • Parsley

What You Do

Step 1- Boil your water with all of the seasonings. Fill up a large stockpot with 4 quarts of water. Stir in your red onion, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, and thyme. Bring this seasoning mixture to a low boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2- Par-cook your potatoes: Add your red potatoes to the seasoning mixture. Add in additional salt. Let the potatoes cook until they are nearing tenderness. This should take between 10 and 15 minutes.

Step 3- Cook your corn and your sausage: Add corn to the seasoning and potatoes mixture and let this cook for about 3 minutes. Add in your sausage and let that all cook together for about 4 additional minutes.

Step 4- Cook your shrimp: Gently stir in your shrimp and cook until just opaque and pink.

Step 5- Drain: Drain your mixture. It is a good idea to save about 1/4 cup of the broth for serving! Spread your shrimp boil over a large serving platter or a baking sheet.

Step 6: Finish it off with butter, lemon, and more seasoning. Drizzle some melted butter and lemon juice all over your shrimp boil. Sprinkle the top with parsley, old Bay seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste.
