Make New Holiday Traditions This Season

Family Time on Christmas Eve

The holidays are here and we hope you’re as excited as we are for it to finally arrive! You may already have your month planned out down to the minute, but if you’re looking for new traditions, or just want to add to your current ones, we have some great ideas for you. Here are some of our favorite traditions you’ll want to try this year.

Read A Classic Story

Make sure everyone goes off to bed with visions of dancing sugar plums in their heads by reading a classic story at bedtime. There are so many great books to choose from, so you may want to pick a couple. There’s no such thing as too many stories during the holiday season.

Exchange A Small Gift

Let everyone choose one small gift to open early. It’ll help satisfy everyone’s impatience about opening presents. Try and choose the gifts so that everyone opens something they can do together that night, like a board game or a toy.

White Elephant

There’s nothing more entertaining than watching friends and family try to claim the best White Elephant present for themselves. Whether you decide it’s the year of gag gifts or of really nice gifts, this is a fun game for everyone.

Take A Nighttime Drive

Driving through neighborhoods looking at lights is arguably one of the best parts of the holiday season. Everyone’s lights are shining bright and everyone’s setup is unique to them. Grab a hot chocolate and warm blankets and snuggle up for the car ride like you’re about to jump in a sleigh.

Make Reindeer Food

If you have little kids in your family, then you’ll want to mix up some reindeer food with them. After all, flying from house to house all night is hard work, and Santa’s reindeer will be hungry. You can find a recipe online or use any leftover foods around the house as reindeer food.

We hope you enjoy these activities with your family and friends this season!
